Allu Arjun and Atlee’s Raaka sets Guinness World Record

Indian actor Allu Arjun and filmmaker Atlee’s upcoming sci-fi film Raaka has achieved a Guinness World Record for a major motion-capture feat during its production.

The film has been recognised for the “Most People Motion-Captured in Real-Time” after 37 performers were captured simultaneously during a single shoot.

Sun Pictures announced the achievement on social media, describing it as a major milestone for Indian cinema. Allu Arjun and Atlee were presented with the Guinness World Records certificate following the achievement.

According to the official Guinness World Records listing, the record was achieved by Sun TV Network and director Atlee in Mumbai on September 15, 2026, during the production of Raaka.

The record-setting sequence involved 37 performers between the ages of four and 70. All of them were motion-captured at the same time within a single capture volume. The process required the production team to accurately track the movements of every performer while avoiding signal loss or distortion.

The technical setup involved 92 optical motion-capture cameras. The team also used Unreal Engine, synchronised witness feeds and facial-tracking technology to record and process the performers’ movements.

Allu Arjun described the achievement as a proud moment for the film and said it represented an effort to push the boundaries of filmmaking. He credited Atlee’s vision and the work of the entire production team for making the record possible.

Atlee also reflected on the achievement, saying that Guinness World Records had fascinated him while growing up and that he had never imagined being part of such an accomplishment. He said the record demonstrated what could be achieved when a team works together with ambition and determination.

Raaka has already generated attention with its first-look poster, which was released on April 8. The poster showed Allu Arjun in a striking appearance, featuring a bald head, dark kohl around his eyes and animal-like claws, hinting at the film’s unusual science-fiction theme.

The upcoming project features a large ensemble cast. Deepika Padukone, Mrunal Thakur, Janhvi Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna are among the actors appearing in key roles alongside Allu Arjun.

With its combination of advanced visual technology, a large-scale cast and an officially recognised motion-capture achievement, Raaka has added another notable milestone to its production journey.
