Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters announced that it has suspended military operations against Israel after delivering what it described as a strong response to Israeli actions in support of the people of Lebanon.
In a statement, the headquarters said Iranian armed forces had responded to Israeli strikes in southern Lebanon and Beirut’s southern suburb of Dahieh. Following those operations, Iran decided to stop further military action.
The statement warned Israel and its allies to learn from the consequences of the response. It also stressed that Iran would take stronger and more destructive measures if Israel continued what Tehran called aggressive and provocative actions.
A day earlier, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed responsibility for ballistic missile strikes targeting Israeli air bases in northern Israel. The IRGC said it attacked the Nevatim and Tel Nof air bases in retaliation for Israeli strikes on radar sites inside Iran. The force added that it remains ready to conduct large-scale operations across all fronts if necessary.
Khatam al-Anbiya spokesperson Ebrahim Zolfaqari said Iranian forces successfully targeted key strategic sites in Israeli-controlled territories, causing significant damage and losses.
He also warned the United States and Israel that Iran and allied resistance groups would not yield to pressure or threats. According to Zolfaqari, any further escalation would trigger a much harsher response.
Iranian officials maintain that the ceasefire agreement that took effect on April 8 between Iran, the United States, and Israel depended on a halt to hostilities on all fronts. They argue that Israel’s continued military operations in Lebanon violate that understanding.
