Jang Dong-yoon, Kim Seung-yoon to wed in October

South Korean actor Jang Dong-yoon is set to marry actress Kim Seung-yoon in October after the couple reportedly dated privately for several years.

Jang announced the news on Tuesday through a handwritten letter shared on social media. He revealed that the couple will hold a small Christian wedding attended by their families.

The actor said the decision followed considerable thought and a long period of getting to know each other. He described their relationship as one built on understanding, affection and mutual support.

Jang said he and Kim had decided to remain by each other’s side and build a happy life together. He also acknowledged that the announcement might come as a surprise to fans because the couple had kept their relationship away from the public eye.

The pair reportedly have a five-year age difference and first met while working on Jang’s 2023 short film, Please Be My Ear. Jang directed the project, which marked his first venture into filmmaking, while Kim appeared as an actor.

Their professional relationship continued as Kim later took a leading role in The Yeast, Jang’s first feature-length directorial project.

The marriage announcement has generated considerable interest among fans, particularly because the two actors had managed to keep their romance private despite working together on multiple projects.

Jang began his acting career in 2016 with Game Development Girls. He later gained recognition through dramas including School 2017 and The Tale of Nokdu. He has also appeared in Queen Mantis and the film Beautiful Days.

Kim Seung-yoon has also built a career in acting, while her collaborations with Jang have now taken on a more personal significance following their marriage announcement.
