Only Murders in the Building season 6 takes the mystery to London

The mystery is crossing the Atlantic as Only Murders in the Building heads to London for its highly anticipated sixth season. The hit comedy-mystery series is set to return on December 8, with new episodes premiering on Hulu and Disney+, bringing Charles-Haden Savage, Oliver Putnam and Mabel Mora into an entirely new setting.

The upcoming season follows the beloved trio as they leave New York behind and find themselves caught up in a new murder investigation in London. At the center of the mystery is the death of rival podcaster Cinda Canning, whose demise draws Charles, Oliver and Mabel into another tangled case filled with suspicious characters, unexpected revelations and plenty of dark humor.

First-look photographs from the season offer a glimpse of the show’s new British surroundings. The images show the trio sharing cozy moments over tea, navigating lavish and imposing interiors, and standing beneath neon signage announcing “ONLY MURDERS IN LONDON.” While the setting may be different, the familiar combination of comedy, suspense and eccentric personalities remains at the heart of the series.

Season six also expands the show’s already impressive ensemble with a number of celebrated British actors. Olivia Colman, Martin Freeman and David Tennant join the cast, adding fresh personalities to the mystery surrounding Cinda’s death.

Returning favorites include Meryl Streep and Da’Vine Joy Randolph, alongside the central trio played by Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez.

The move to London marks another major change for a series that has built much of its identity around New York City’s Upper West Side. However, the first images suggest that the show’s signature visual style and playful approach to murder mysteries will remain intact. Grand buildings, atmospheric interiors and distinctly British settings provide a new backdrop for the characters’ latest investigation.
