MITHI: A court in Mithi has sentenced a man to 25 years in prison after finding him guilty of sexually assaulting a seven-year-old girl.

Additional Sessions Judge Muhammad Fazil Bohiyo announced the verdict in the case and awarded the convict, identified as Keyal, 25 years of rigorous imprisonment. The court also imposed a fine of Rs100,000 on the convict.

According to details, the case was registered against Keyal at Mithi Police Station in January 2025 after the seven-year-old girl was allegedly subjected to sexual assault. The prosecution presented evidence before the court during the proceedings, following which the court found the accused guilty of the offence.

Advocate Mustafa Hingorjo, who provided details about the case, said that a rape case had been registered against the accused in January 2025. He said the legal proceedings continued after the registration of the case, ultimately leading to the court’s decision to convict the accused.

The verdict brings an end to the trial proceedings that began following the alleged assault of the minor. The court’s decision carries a sentence of 25 years of rigorous imprisonment, along with a financial penalty of Rs100,000.
