Naqvi meets Iran’s Revolutionary Guards chief in Tehran

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has met General Ahmad Vahidi, head of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), in Tehran as part of his official visit to Iran.

According to a statement from Pakistan’s Ministry of Interior, the meeting focused on the evolving situation in the Middle East and developments affecting regional security and stability.

The ministry said Naqvi and General Vahidi exchanged views on the current regional environment and discussed matters of mutual interest. The meeting formed part of Naqvi’s ongoing engagements with Iran’s political leadership and senior security officials during his visit.

Naqvi is currently in Tehran on an official trip, where he has been holding a series of meetings with Iranian officials to discuss bilateral relations and regional developments.

Earlier, the Pakistani interior minister held detailed talks with his Iranian counterpart, Eskandar Momeni. The two sides discussed Pakistan-Iran relations, cooperation in various areas and the overall situation in the region.

Naqvi’s meetings with Iranian officials come amid heightened tensions and rapidly changing developments in the Middle East. His engagements are expected to provide an opportunity for the two countries to exchange views on regional security and explore areas of closer cooperation.

The interior ministry said the minister will continue his meetings with Iranian leadership and security officials during his stay in Tehran.
