PTDC concludes national tour guide training programme

Islamabad: The Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC), under the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC), concluded its National Tour Guide Training Programme 2026 with a certificate distribution ceremony at the PTDC Head Office in Islamabad.

Certificates were awarded by Secretary IPC Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani and PTDC Managing Director Aftab-ur-Rehman Rana to 19 participants from different cities who successfully completed the two-week intensive training programme.

Addressing the ceremony, Wani underscored the importance of professionally trained tour guides in promoting Pakistan’s tourism potential, preserving its cultural heritage and enhancing visitors’ experiences.

He reiterated the government’s commitment to strengthening the tourism sector through capacity-building initiatives.

PTDC Managing Director Aftab-ur-Rehman Rana congratulated the graduates and urged them to serve as ambassadors of Pakistan by providing authentic, responsible and high-quality tourism experiences.

He also acknowledged the contributions of partner organisations, including COTHM, STFP, PATO and the Alpine Club of Pakistan, as well as the resource persons who supported the programme.

The training combined classroom sessions with practical field visits, equipping participants with professional guiding techniques, destination interpretation, visitor management, communication skills, first aid awareness and hands-on experience at key tourism and heritage sites.
