Punjab Assembly speaker inaugurates CNF station in Kasur

Kasur: Speaker of the Punjab Assembly, Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan, inaugurated the new station of the Punjab Counter Narcotics Force (CNF) in Kasur. Provincial Minister for Education Rana Sikandar Hayat, Secretary Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Masood Mukhtar, Commander CNF, and other senior officials were also present on the occasion.

Following the inauguration ceremony, the Speaker was given a comprehensive briefing on the organizational structure of the Punjab Counter Narcotics Force, its legal mandate, ongoing operations, modern equipment, training system, and future plans. Officials informed him that a comprehensive report covering the Force’s operational performance over the past eleven months would also be presented.

Speaking on the occasion, Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan said that the establishment of the Punjab Counter Narcotics Force is a significant and visionary initiative of the Chief Minister of Punjab, aimed at effectively eradicating the menace of narcotics from the province.

He emphasized that the fight against drugs is not the sole responsibility of law enforcement agencies but a collective responsibility of the entire society.

The Speaker appreciated the professional training, modern equipment, and operational capability of the Punjab Counter Narcotics Force, stating that the Force possesses the capacity to perform its duties in accordance with international standards.

He expressed confidence that the Force would work in close coordination with the Police, the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF), and other relevant institutions to conduct effective operations against drug traffickers across the province.

Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan further observed that the nature of crime is constantly evolving, and therefore law enforcement agencies must also adapt themselves to meet modern challenges.

Reaffirming the Punjab Government’s commitment, he stated that every possible measure would continue to be taken to protect the younger generation from the scourge of drugs, and all relevant institutions would be provided with full support to achieve this objective.
