Police in Karachi have arrested a second son accused of involvement in the murder of his father in a case allegedly linked to a property dispute. According to police, the incident took place in Karachi’s Ibrahim Hyderi area, where a man identified as Iqbal was shot dead on June 23. Authorities allege that the murder was planned by the victim’s son, who reportedly persuaded a friend to commit the crime by offering him an iPhone and Rs15,000 in exchange.

Earlier, police arrested two suspects in connection with the killing, including the victim’s son, Aijaz, and his friend, Shiraz. Investigators allege that Shiraz carried out the fatal shooting after accepting the promised rewards. Police claim the murder was the result of an ongoing dispute between Aijaz and his father over family property.

During the investigation, police recovered the weapon allegedly used in the murder as well as the motorcycle believed to have been used during the crime. The recovered evidence is expected to undergo forensic examination as part of the ongoing investigation.

Authorities have now confirmed the arrest of a third suspect, Jamshed, another son of the deceased. According to police, Jamshed confessed during questioning that he had allowed his brother to go ahead with the plan to kill their father. Investigators said he admitted that he had given his consent because he believed their father frequently mistreated his elder brother, Aijaz.

Police stated that Jamshed allegedly told investigators that their father used to physically assault Aijaz, and that this family conflict contributed to the decision to support the murder plot. Authorities are continuing to verify the statements made during the investigation and gather additional evidence.

Investigators believe the case was motivated by a long-running disagreement over property ownership and inheritance. Police say the dispute had created serious tensions within the family, ultimately leading to the alleged conspiracy to murder the victim.
