Shehbaz says government focusing on youth skills, IT and AI training

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said the government is taking measures to equip young Pakistanis with modern skills, including information technology and artificial intelligence, to help them compete in a rapidly changing global economy.

He made the remarks during separate meetings with delegations of the Pakistani community and Pakistani youth living in the United States in New York.

The prime minister highlighted several initiatives aimed at supporting talented and underprivileged students. He said the government’s laptop and scholarship programmes are continuing to provide opportunities to young people across the country.

Shehbaz also recalled the Daanish Schools initiative, which he launched during his tenure as chief minister of Punjab. He said the programme was designed to provide quality education to talented students from financially disadvantaged families while ensuring equal educational opportunities.

According to the prime minister, the government is also working to establish a world-class Daanish University as part of its efforts to expand educational opportunities for young people.

Shehbaz said talented Pakistanis living overseas were a source of pride for the country and could play an important role in Pakistan’s development.

He expressed confidence in the potential of the country’s young population, saying he believed that the youth could play a decisive role in shaping Pakistan’s future.

The Pakistani youth attending the meetings appreciated the government’s initiatives focused on youth development. They particularly welcomed efforts to expand opportunities in information technology and artificial intelligence, as well as measures aimed at making it easier to do business.
