Bugti says govt expanding youth opportunities across Balochistan

Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti has accused the Baloch Yekjehti Committee (BYC) of trying to incite violence under the guise of advocating for public rights.

QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti has accused the Baloch Yekjehti Committee (BYC) of trying to incite violence under the guise of advocating for public rights.

Speaking during an online interaction with people from different walks of life on a social media platform, the chief minister said false and misleading narratives about Balochistan were being spread. He said he responded to those claims with facts and evidence and highlighted the government’s efforts to improve security, development and public welfare in the province.

According to an official statement, Bugti said the provincial government was implementing the Youth Engagement Plan to create employment opportunities for young people across Balochistan. He said several initiatives were underway to help youth develop skills, secure jobs and contribute to the province’s economic growth.

The chief minister alleged that the Baloch Yekjehti Committee was attempting to exploit public issues to encourage violence. He said the government remained committed to addressing the genuine concerns of citizens through peaceful and constitutional means while ensuring law and order.

Bugti said the government was working to provide better opportunities for young people in every district, including Gwadar. He added that development projects, employment schemes and education initiatives were aimed at giving youth a brighter future and reducing deprivation.

He further said special funds had been allocated for the Education Endowment Fund and scholarship programmes. The funds, he added, would help deserving students continue their education and expand access to higher learning across the province.
