The meeting was held at the Large Taxpayers Office (LTO) Lahore on September 22, 2026, as part of the FBR chairman’s initiative to maintain regular engagement with stakeholders in line with the directives of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

Welcoming the LCCI delegation, Chairman FBR stressed the importance of maintaining regular communication between the tax authority and the business community. He announced that meetings with business representatives would be held on a monthly basis to provide a platform for discussing taxation and operational issues.
Langrial encouraged business representatives to present their concerns directly to the FBR, assuring them that genuine issues would be addressed on a priority basis and, where possible, resolved in real time.
LCCI President Faheem ur Rehman Saigol appreciated the FBR’s initiative for establishing regular interaction with the business community. He also acknowledged the steps taken by the tax authority concerning matters related to real estate, Super Tax and advance tax on exports.

The participants also discussed the need to prevent the misuse of tariff provisions and ensure that trade and taxation policies are implemented in a transparent and effective manner.
Chairman FBR said the board was working to address genuine concerns raised by taxpayers and improve the overall tax administration system. He emphasized that broadening the tax base and bringing all eligible sectors into the formal tax system were essential for achieving sustainable improvements in revenue collection.
He further stressed that cooperation from the business community was necessary for the successful implementation of tax reforms and the creation of a more transparent taxation environment.
