The Railway Police has decided to launch a crackdown on passengers travelling on trains without valid tickets. The move is aimed at strengthening ticket checks and ensuring that passengers comply with railway travel rules.
AIG Operations Syed Abrar Abbas has issued a formal letter to all Superintendents of Police (SPs), directing them to take strict action against passengers found travelling without tickets.
According to the letter, Railway Police personnel will be required to conduct regular inspections of trains. Officers carrying out the checks must also share their live location during the operation. The measure is intended to ensure effective monitoring of checking teams and maintain transparency during the crackdown.
The AIG Operations has also directed officials to submit daily reports to the DIG North Railway Police. The reports will provide details of the inspections carried out and the action taken against passengers travelling without valid tickets.
Train inspections will be conducted under the supervision of Station House Officers (SHOs) and Additional SHOs. Senior officers will be responsible for ensuring that checking teams perform their duties properly and that inspections are carried out according to the instructions.
To maintain continuous checking operations, Railway Police personnel will perform their duties in two shifts. The deployment of staff in separate shifts will allow authorities to cover train services more effectively and conduct inspections on a regular basis.
The Railway Police has instructed all concerned officers to ensure implementation of the directives. Officials are expected to maintain close coordination during the checking process and submit reports regularly to the senior command.
