Pakistan Navy, Coast Guards foil smuggling attempt in Pishukan, seize liquor and illegal medicines

RAWALPINDI, September 23, 2026:  Pakistan Navy and Pakistan Coast Guards, in coordination with the Joint Maritime Information Coordination Centre (JMICC), have foiled an attempt to smuggle a substantial quantity of contraband in the Pishukan area of Balochistan.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the joint operation was conducted on the basis of actionable intelligence regarding the movement of illicit goods in the area. Personnel from the Pakistan Navy and Pakistan Coast Guards took part in the intelligence-based operation, which resulted in the seizure of a sizeable quantity of liquor and illegal medicines.

The operation was carried out as part of ongoing efforts by relevant security and law-enforcement agencies to curb smuggling activities and prevent the transportation of prohibited items through Pakistan’s coastal and border areas.

Following the successful operation, the confiscated contraband was handed over to the Pakistan Coast Guards for further legal proceedings. The authorities are expected to proceed according to the applicable laws and regulations concerning the seized items and the individuals involved, if identified.

The operation also highlights the role of intelligence sharing and coordination among maritime and law-enforcement institutions in monitoring and preventing illicit activities.
